The Pearl-Qatar, the multi-billion dollar offshore island and one of the largest real estate developments in the country, is to sponsor the Retail City exhibition in Dubai next week, company officials said yesterday.

The Pearl-Qatar is the Gold Sponsor for the three-day event which takes place on June 4 till June 6 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.

Retail City brings together international retail property professionals to develop new joint ventures, exchange view, seek upcoming brands and look for investment opportunities.

Hussam Ahmed, General Manager of Retail at The Pearl -Qatar said he was pleased to be taking part in the event and said it would give regional and international retail firms an opportunity to get a detailed overview of the project and see recent achievements.

"We have attracted many top brands to The Pearl-Qatar thus far, and we look forward to meeting with them and other groups who are also interested in joining us to create this spectacular retail and residential destination," he said.

Ahmed will be giving a special multi-media presentation on The Pearl-Qatar on June 4 – the first day of the exhibition.

By 2010, The Pearl-Qatar will be home to more than 40,000 residents and will host several 5-star hotels.

In addition, the island will also have over 2 million square feet of retail space and over 1000 outlets to choose from.

The Pearl-Qatar is the one of the most prestigious and largest real estate projects in Qatar.

It is also the only project offering true freehold investment opportunities.
