BBK officially launched what it calls Bahrain's first financial mall in Adliya last night. The event was held under the patronage of Bahrain Monetary Agency (BMA) Governor Rasheed Al Maraj.
The bank says that the mall is part of its 'brighter banking' strategy and features Bahrain's first automated cash depository station, an automated queuing system, which replaces the conventional queues and will result in increased time efficiency, as well as financial advisory services.
It also features dedicated parking, longer opening hours as well as telecommunications and insurance services from third party partners such as MTC-Vodafone and Bahrain Kuwait Insurance Company (BKIC).
The architectural design revolves around open and bright spaces, with ample seating for queuing customers.
There is also a smart deposit machine, which the bank says is a first for Bahrain.
It allows clients to deposit cash directly in real time, thereby eliminating the need to wait until the next business day for the amount to be transferred to the account.
Financial advisers are based on site to assist new and existing clients with BBK's product offerings.
In addition, a 24-hour drive-through ATM machine is also available as is an e-banking station that links to the bank's online services.
Reception staff is on hand to direct waiting customers to the automated terminals in the cases for which transactions can be performed automatically. This aims to minimise queuing and enhance time efficiency.
"We are all very pleased to mark the opening of the Financial Mall, which is a milestone event in BBK's development," said BBK general manager and chief executive officer Dr Farid Al Mulla.
"We are catering to the increasing needs of a highly sophisticated customer base, whose time is becoming increasingly more valuable."
"The mall's soft launch was last March, and we have received excellent feedback from our customers so far," he said. The financial mall is part of a longer-term rollout plan, which will replace most of the existing branches.
A new facility is currently under construction in Budaiya.
The Adliya mall is fully open for business from 8am-8pm, Saturday to Thursday.
